During that time I feel like there have been a few Ages of Internet, broad themes that capture the essence of the internet and how we use it has changed

I was horrified to realise recently that my engineering thesis assessing energy storage technologies is now 20 years old. Once I overcame the nausea at re-reading my own work 20 years on I found some interesting tidbits, and not many correct forecasts I’ve got to say. But how they were wrong is interesting, and sets us up for lessons in future.

One of the most common questions I'm asked is:

"Can you recommend an electric ute with 450 km of range?"

By the time an organisation is asking that question, many of the decisions that matter most have already been made.
